Process_Description:
Lansat 7 tm + and SPOT remote sensed data in GeoTIFF format
were enhanced by histogram equalization, indexed using
NDVI, trimmed to the 20-district political boundary and
subjected to unsupervised classification, using 20 classes.
Both classified images were then recalssified to
urban/nonurban by supervised reclassification to a maximum
of one shared class. Reclassed images were then converted
to grids, multiplied and subtracted to produce difference
within the extent of shared grid coverage. This grid
calculation was then converted to two individual
shapefiles, representing urban land use existant since
1993, and one representing new urban land use from 1993 to 2000.
