Research Interests: Climatology
Jeremy Diem received his B.S. degree in Earth Sciences from The Pennsylvania State University, and his M.A. and Ph.D. degrees in Geography from The University of Arizona.
Dr. Diem has taught the following courses: Geography 1112 (Introduction to Climatology), Geography 4520/6520 (Quantitative Methods), Geography 4530/6530 (Introduction to Remote Sensing), Geography 4642/6642 (Advanced Climatology), Geography 8048 (Seminar in Climatology), and Geography 8050 (Seminar in Environmental Issues).
Dr. Diem’s research focuses primarily on how human activities impact the environment, and his three main research areas are (1) atmospheric pollution, (2) urban effects on precipitation, and (3) land-atmosphere exchange of carbon. Dr. Diem has published his research in Annals of the Association of American Geographers, Atmospheric Environment, Climate Research, Environmental Management, Environmental Pollution, Geophysical Research Letters, International Journal of Climatology, Journal of Applied Meteorology, Journal of Climate, Journal of Environmental Management, Journal of Geophysical Research, Journal of the Air and Waste Management Association, Physical Geography, and The Professional Geographer.
